I am dedicating this to my husband. I done it few weeks ago, as I wanted to do it for his birthday, then I changed my mind, thinking I will do it on his anniversary that was two days ago, then I figured out this is the best day for it.
Why dahlias? My husband would plant them for me every year, and did they ever grew and bloom for him. He knew that seeing those heavy, colorful blooms late in the season, will bring the smile to my face, and that was the biggest reward for him. I planted some for him last year, but I don't remember them blooming, and of all that I plated this year, only three plants (out of nine) that bloomed, and one that was my favourite, that looked like one of the dahlias hubby would plant is the one whose photo I placed above.
Now you can see my inspiration, and you know my dedication.
As a base for my dahlias, I used Black Heart Beauty - Oil Slick iridescent polish over the black base.
All images are on Mexerdoo 7 plate, and I wanted to do something like this for a long time.
For stamping, I used Esmaltes da Kelly - Dolly, and La Femme - Lila. I love how this ended up looking, and I could totally see my inspiration there.
As a matter of the fact, I took the photo with the same dahlia I have on the top of this page.
Take care of the people that are important to you, as when they go, there is no coming back.
Have a wonderful day.
