This was flexing my rudimentary skills, but I really want to improve on my freehand. Great way to do it is to join other people, and get out of your comfort zone. This also ensure that I will do at least one freehand manicure a month, which is way more than I was doing for a while.
As I said, animals are not my strong suit, so I partaken more of the cartoonish approach to this theme.
I also opted out of watercolors I used last two times. I love saturated color, and that is what I used here.
As a base, I used Cirque Colors - Hatch. Name of the polish was really calling me, as it was so appropriate for the theme.
I used acrylic paints and my Mitty - Candy 00 brush that Mitra sent me last year to review. I do fluctuate in between my brushes, and honestly, whichever brush I grab first is the one I paint with.
I am really simple creature when it comes to this. In the same time, I am not versed enough in miniature painting to be picky, or to have a preference one way or the other.
This little parrot I painted was stretching its wing, and it looks like he wanted to wave to all of you and say: Hi there!
When I was finished with the bird, I used some loose glitters, and I did a glitter placement on my index finger in the colors of the parrot. I did it in reverse French tip style, and I actually liked it.
Loved how this looked glossy, but before I removed it, I applied matte top coat so I can show you how this looked matte - it was infinitely easier to photograph, as I did not have to fight with the glare of the lamp of off the nail surface.
I am surely glad that weekend is closer by the minute.
Weather is fantastic, and if my back behave this weekend, I may even work in my garden... can't wait to dip my hands in the dirt and plant some annuals...
Have yourself an amazing day.
Cheers.
