This weekend I was giving some much needed love to the polishes I already have, but because the sheer volume of the polishes I own, I rarely use.
Some of my polishes are on the shelves, and I can see them - which means I will reach for them sooner or later. Part of my collection is in a little drawer unit, and I have to admit, some of those I even forgot I have. Some drawers are not really open often (out of sight out of mind), and my Ciate drawer is one of them. I made sure that I pulled out few polishes so I can make sure that I actually use them in a near future.
I have lots of Ciate mini bottles (about 3-4 advent calendar worth), and several fully sized. Long ago, I would just place the new purchases together with the old ones, and would 'remember' which ones are new. This worked for me then, but no more, and in my 'old' stash, I have plenty of polishes that are totally new, never used polishes. One of them is Ciate - Hidden Gem. I love mustard colored polishes, and considering that this is not really commonly produced color you would think that I would know that I have another one at home before I ordered few more? Well, just to let you know, finding this one was pleasant surprise. Beautiful crème with easy application and high gloss finish. I did not took the swatch polish as I was planning on using it with my favourite textured polish - I Wanna Be Sedated by Deborah Lippmann. That textured polish was the love at the first sight - as soon as I seen it for the first time on Instagram, I knew I have to have it!
In keeping with the 'shopping my own stock' I opened one of many stamping plate holders, and decided to use the plate that is in my possession for way too long, and still had protective blue film over. Plate in question is DRK Designer 2.
There will be a while before I purchase another plate. I possibly have about 40 of them in my incoming mail (this was really embarrassing confession). This plate has 10 full sized images, and cute scalloped border that can be used as a part of the design, or on its own...
Those fine lined images really call to be reverse stamped, and that is exactly what I did here. My pick was the first image on the plate, that reminded me of the chunky knit, and that was perfect for the season we are in.
Even though I love mustard yellow on my nails, this is really not the color I do have in my closet, not even as an accessory...
To pick up the image, I used Konad - Black, then I filled the image using Different Dimension - Fortune Favour the Brave, another unusually colored polish - Olive green base that is full of red to gold chunky shimmers. Super pretty in person, and totally unique in its own world.
I added a matte top coat to my knitted pattern, and I love how it looks next to that textured polish.
I hope you have a wonderful day. Keep safe, try to stay warm, and drive extra carefully.
Cheers!
