This was done for the What's Up Nails challenge... And proved to be most challenging technique so far. I used chrome powders before with decent results, but this time all that go wrong actually did, and then some.
For the life of me I could not do a decent manicure, no matter what I tried... hated one after another, and I deleted all the photos because I did not want to have any reminder of the epic failures...
This one was not the prettiest, but it was most decent one... and despite all I strongly dislike it...
Here goes nothing...
Base color is Color Club Lacquer - Beach Please - super pretty neon pink, that has amazing formula. No need for white base - 2 coats and you are golden! I thought darker chrome powder would look so good over.
Lighter pink is also by Color Club Lacquer - Wicker Park. Not sure where I was going with that one, except to provide some extra contrast.
I wanted to use the chrome powder over the stamping image... and that did not really go well... So I would rub off the base, would not stick, would stick everywhere... and list goes on. You will get sick of all of my dots before you even get to the end of the story. Once I actually did great, only to pick up the wrong top coat and smear it all around. Yeah, I really had a great streak here.
Images are on Moyra plate 45 - I fill you. This plate is made for the foil stamping or chrome, because images have fine lines, and they are spaced nicely, so you would not end up with the big blob of the foil. I totally did not do it any justice, and very soon, I will have to use it to prove this to you. Until then, I do have discount code for Moyra where you can save 10% just by typing SANJAMOYRA at the checkout.
Stamping polish is also by Moyra - FP.01. This is actually for the foil stamping, but works with powders too... except for this time... totally user error. This particular one is black, and I had nice results using it for the foil stamping, and I also have the white one. White one came in the Foil Polish Stamping Kit, that contained foil, foil stamping polish and some powder.
On pinky and ring finger I applied chrome powder then added reverse French tip using two pink polishes used on middle finger.
All this was not really that bad until I smudged the ring finger when applied top coat. This was my attempt number 6 and there was no way I had any patience for anything more.
Now you know what I mean by being the challenged.
For a hot second I consider stamping over those solid chrome nails. I just put everything away before I ruin this one too.
Don't you just feel so sorry for the poor little me! LOL!
I would totally attempt to do something pretty, but time is of the essence, and I have none.
On the bright side, it is already Wednesday, and middle week is the reason for celebration.
Until tomorrow, you have a wonderful day.
Cheers!
