Once again, I have a double feature - two items I paired together. They are part of my review parcel from Born Pretty Store.
First item is 2 g Rose Gold Mirror Powder, color 2, Item #39206.
***Unfortunately, I noticed my mistake in adding the item number on my photo only too late... I assure you that item number that has a link above, is correct. Please accept my apologies.***
Here is the thing. I love to play with powders and glitters, and love the amazing results you can achieve, despite all the mess. You can achieve different look just by changing your base color, as all powders are just a little bit translucent.
For the best results with any of the powders, gel polish base is the must. Gel will have that smooth, mirror like surface that is the best when using chrome powders, as they will show any imperfections in application of your base.
I am well aware that some of my readers do not have UV/LED curing lamp at home, and gels are not for everyone. That is the reason why I like to do review of the powders using just regular nail polishes, as those are widely available, affordable, and you do not need to have any special equipment.
As a base, I used OPI - My Vampire is buff.
This was topped with the high gloss top coat, that I got from Born Pretty Store in previous chrome powder kit. That top coat is available for purchase individually and it is item #32802. I apply this top coat, and when is dry, I applied powder. I used my finger for application this time. I did try eyeshadow applicator, silicone brush, and now finger - just to show that there is more than one way to do the same thing. I think that this is my preferred way of application.
I have video tutorial for this on my Instagram account, and you can check it out. My IG handle is @hefersanja.
If you watch my tutorial, you may notice that I did not use any latex protection around my nail - for a simple reason - I am sensitive to latex, and clean up is really easy. All you need is little bit of cotton dipped in rubbing alcohol.
I have to tell you that I was more than pleased with color that I got. Only thing is this was really hard to photograph. This was so beautifully reflective in person, but under my lamp it looked - flat. I went outside, and shade photos showed the shiny reflection the best. You can even see my reflection in it.
Unfortunately, I did not had the chance of trying this fabulous powder against black base. I will certainly do that, but maybe not at this time.
Those are only photos that I could use here, as my camera is really not great for low light photos. In low light there is so much grain, and I could not use them here.
Next item I received was flower plate BPL-67, item #39490.
To test this plate, I used beautiful chrome background I showed you above. I wanted to show you how beautifully images transfer to a nail. I picked different image for each nail, some with fuller lines, some with straight lines, using different stamping polishes to prove my point.
For the stamping, I used following polishes : Hit the Bottle - As Black As Night and Purple Reign, Mundo de Unas - 10 Pink, MoYou Nails - White and Moyra Sp.20- Neon Pink.
