If I was a male, I would probably be somewhere on the boat, working as a part of the crew.
I think that I inherited that from my grandpa - he was the sailor in early 1900's... it skipped a generation or two.
I really did not know what to do, and I was just playing with some of the new items I got recently on my thumb... I liked it so much, I had to do it on all of my nails. For some reason, this reminded me of deep water, hence the title...
First I painted my nails with A England - Natasha'a Dance War and Peace. All A England polishes I own are perfection in their own right, and this one was not exception.
As I told you at the beginning, I was bored, and I had all of those new items to play with, plus loads of other stuff I have no time or energy to use.
I decided to use it as a base for some of the loose glitters and such that I obsessively hoarding, and choice was quite eclectic...
First of all, I applied coat of sticky base polish - in my case - Yellow Stopper. This will give you tacky base onto which you can add your glitters and such. There was no pattern, I really applied next three products at random.
I picked pink holographic micro glitter One Direction - Star as something lighter against dark base. I used small brush to apply glitters onto my nail.
I also purchased some holographic glitters from Born Pretty Store that could be barnished into a super holographic finish, but in my case, I did not rub at all. This green holographic powder came in a little 5 ml bottle (item #35944) with a spout, so I just tapped the bottom of the bottle to get the small amount of the powder on my nail. I really liked the effect of having a little bit more in the centre, and fading out - looks like I did something really fancy there on purpose.
Third item that I used is loose chameleon flakies, that I also purchased at Born Pretty Store (item #38767). I used small brush which I dipped into the jar with flakies, and then gently touched the nail to adhere them to my sticky base.
Everything was topped with Seche - Fast drying top coat.
I really, really liked how this looked. It was either doing a galaxy, or doing something water related. I was really tempted to leave this as is.
I used quite a few plates and stamping polishes to create this skittle manicure...
Index finger - Images are from Creative Shop 28, stamped with Esmaltes da Kelly - Doguito and Hit the Bottle - Let's go to the Peach.
Middle finger - Bubble image is on Creative shop 02 and stamped with Hit the Bottle - Hololulu blue.
Thumb, Ring and Pinky - All images are on Clear Jelly Stamper CjS - 06 layering stamping plate. In retrospect, I wish I did whole manicure with the same plate...
For stamping on those three nails, I used following: Esmaltes da Kelly - Doguito and Chico; Mundo de Unas - White; Maybelline - Bold Gold and Hit the Bottle - Hololulu Blue.
All stamping was done with Clear jelly stamper.
I liked how this manicure came to life... some days just playing can create wonderful manicure. Sometimes I have loose idea what I want to do, rarely a clear picture pops into my mind, and most of the time I just play and let my creativity take a lead...
Some days results are pleasing, some are disappointment, and from time to time, I actually manage to transfer on my nails what I imagined I want to achieve in my head...
It is long weekend here, and I will enjoy beautiful day at home with my family. It would be nice to go sailing or something similar, but when lacking that, I will just let my imagination take me anywhere I want to be, and then some...
Have yourself a wonderful day.
Cheers!
