What I miss the most is ability to hug my boys tightly... can't wait for this all to pass.
I did prepare for you something that involves one of my boys.
Few weeks ago, I was contacted by Bitter Gold (bittergold.ca) if I would be interested to try their Nail Serum. I was really excited to do this for several reasons: I love to support Canadian companies, and this is small company based in Ontario. Product is made in Canada, with imported ingredients.
Nail Serum came with the silicone Stress Free Bracelet (you can see it on the photos at the bottom of the page). When ever you feel anxious, or stressed, distracting yourself with this bracelet will prevent you to bite your nails. This bracelet was snatched by my youngest son, as he can be fidgety...
Nail Serum is odorless, and is infused with silica + biotin (to strengthen and harden the nail as it grows), and Vitamin E + Aloe to help with healing process of the skin around the nail. It also supposed to have a bitter taste to discourage you from biting your nails.
Second reason is that my firstborn son is really bad nail biter. For decades I wanted nothing more for him but to stop with chewing his nails. Personally I find this habit disgusting, but that never stopped him.
I knew he will be the perfect test subject, and he pleasantly surprised me when he agreed.
Bad habits are hard to break, but he gave it a try. Below are the results after three weeks of use.
On the first photo, skin around his nails is cracked, dry, and his nails are bitten below the quick, especially on his left hand (top one). On the second photo, skin around the nails healed, and there is just a faintest line of growth, not any more below the quick and ready to bleed, but actual nail growth!
He noticed that after just couple of applications skin around his nails was softer and moisturized. He told me that taste was not that bad - kind of like a hand lotion... He was still putting them in his mouth, but now when tastes the Nail Serum, he is more conscientious and he is trying really hard.
It is recommended by the maker to apply the Nail Serum twice a day on the clean hands, and I have to say that my son would apply it once a day, which is better than nothing.
Nail Serum looks like cloudy white gel/lotion that you apply on the nail with provided brush, very similar to the one in the nail polish. It dries to a matte 'film' - using this word as it really describe it the best. Can't be easier.
I am really religious in application of the nail oils, and I am really glad that my son embraced this product and I gladly let him keep the bottle, that promptly moved to the game room... He apply this when he goes to play the games... Whatever it works for him.
I did prepared manicure too, one that will show off the elegant bottle, which was also my inspiration today.
Over black nail polish, I applied matte top coat, then using the Moyra - FP.01 I picked up the images from Lina + @tanya_wish collaboration plate. After I stamped the images on my nail, I applied Moyra - Magic Foil No.02.
