This is very interesting prompt, and I thought that I will not have time to do it. Last minute entry, and really quickly done.
As some of you may know, I was born and raised in Croatia, where I spent half of my life.
I took inspiration from the national costume from the part of the country where I was born.
I tried to represent both - female and male costumes on my little nails.
Female costume is done from white homespun fabric, and design was handstitched using different colors of thread, and colors mainly depend of the area where costume is coming from. For me, most beautiful ones were done using dominantly red thread. Geometric and floral designs are one of most commonly done.
Eyelet lace is also found on both - skirt and shirt, over which aprons and scarfs are worn. Females are also adorned with row upon a row of the red beads, or with ribbons onto which are attached gold coins are worn around the neck. Most elaborate hair style was art on itself, and sadly, one that is slowly dying...
Male costume was much simpler: white shirt and pants, and dark colored vest worn over. I could be pretty much any color, but black was most commonly seen, adorned with designs done using the gold thread, and often small round mirrors were attached for that extra spark.
Considering the fact that part of the country where I grew up is predominantly agricultural, wheat is very commonly used in gold stitching.
For this manicure I finally used Creative Shop Ukraine stamping plate.
I am glad that I finally managed to use it, and free it from the protective film.
Have a wonderful day.
Cheers!
