Couple of weeks ago Natasha IG@natasha_dauncey shared story of her friends. Their 15 month old was in a stroller, when stricken by drunk driver. Baby's name was Liam, and he did not survive. His parents were faced with another hard decision, and generously donated Liam's organs, so another parent would not go through the same hell the did.
That just shows what kind of people Liam would have look up to... he did more good in his short life than some people in their whole life.
With this manicure I wanted to bring awareness to the organ donation, and also against drinking and driving.
It is NEVER OK to have a few drinks, and then sit behind the wheel. Never! There are so many other options available to anyone. If you really can't go without drink, please do not drive. Have designated driver, walk home or call the taxy. Fare you pay will be so much less than a life, and the grief you will cause with your own actions. Stay home and have a drink, and if you are entertaining with alcohol served, please make sure that your guests will stay the night at your place, and sleep off effects of the alcohol.
We all share the same road, and I know, I do not to be on the path of the drunk driver, but that is the risk we all take every day. I may be naïve, but I like to think that other drivers are sober, free of any substance when sitting behind the wheel. I could not even imagine how would I live with the knowledge that because of me and my act, another family lost its member, or that member is seriously injured.
With this manicure I tried to portray all the broken dreams, dreams that will never happen. The stories that would never be told, all the games that will never be played planes and boats that will never see their voyage...
My deepest condolences to the grieving parents... Rest in peace little one... RIP Liam...
