For this week's #AllAbstractTuesday, inspiration reminded me of drops of ink in the water, and all the little delicate color lines when they are traveling towards the bottom of the container.
I truly was looking forward to achieve this result, and even though this was the better version, I still feel there is much improvement possible.
I started with white base, and for this manicure I used jellies by Cirque Colors - XOXO jelly (pink) and NSFW jelly (black). I may or may not be waiting for the brand new jelly collection released last weekend... could not resist the bright colors...
Anyhow, lets go back to the design on hand here - see what I did here?! LOL!
First I applied the jellies and using the striping brush, I was pulling out the little lines, but I did not like the result, so I added second layer. On the stamper head I did swirls through the drops of XOXO jelly, NSFW jelly and drop of top coat, then I just applied it to the nail while still wet, like a smoosh...
This allowed for some more finer lines, and I wish that I done this twice, to create that smoke like effect... As I wrote earlier, some new babies will arrive at my doors pretty soon, so I may attempt something like this again, who knows?!
Even though this effect was not coming out the way I imagined it, I was not totally unhappy with the results.
For landing somewhat short of the goal, I decide to dazzle you with my superb glitter placing skills... LOL! Black glitter to the rescue!
For glitter placement I used my stamper again - so many uses for the stamper here! I place my glitters on the stamper - This gives me as much time as I need, it allows me to move glitters, and I do not have to deal with drying polish on the nail.
Because I always use clear jelly stampers, I can always hold it close to the nail and see how it would look on the nail. This is totally dry run, and you can do it even before you polish the nails.
When I am happy with the placement, I can simply 'stamp' the glitters over mostly dry (but still little bit tacky base polish, or you can apply Orly - Bonder, and after minute or so just 'stamp' the glitters onto the nails.
I have plenty of stampers, and I am able to prepare glitters for all 10 of my nails. I can do this hours or days before I need it, no matter how involved this is or not. This great hack was discovered by accident when I dropped the stamper in some loose glitters... lightbulb went on, and I use it ever since. You can even apply the top coat, peel when dry and cut out the shape you want, and works awesome for the full nail glitter application. You would apply it like a decal, over still tacky polish or Orly - Bonder.
Hope this helped, and one of these days I may even remember to photograph the process, and give you photo tutorial. No promises though.
Have an amazing day everyone.
Cheers!
