It is not the secret that I love crellies... just look at my last few posts, and love is clearly written all over there, but white crellies always had a special place in my heart. Even though I love the color, white ones are my favorite of them all.
This particular one is one of three extremely similar crellies that were purchased within the same week... I really like this one, it is clear.
One I am wearing here is Pahlish Polish - Casse Noisette from their Russian Ballet Collection.
Smooth and easy to apply formula. On the swatch above, I am wearing 2 coats and no top coat.
Image I used is on MoYou London - Africa Collection - 04 stamping plate.
Image is double stamped, and for stamping I did not use stamping polishes, but regular polishes that stamp exceptionally well.
When I started with stamping, stamping polish I could get my hands on was super expensive, even though I paid much more these days without the second thought.
But in those days, I wanted to make my little collection go extra mile by being able to stamp with the regular polishes. To this day, I use some of my regular polishes for stamping. Now I do not need to try out every single polish for the stamping abilities. Now, I kind of just know which one would perform well. Rule of the thumb is - If polish is fully opaque in one thin coat, chances are it will stamp pretty well.
Most of the regular polishes would stamp over the light base, but real test is when they look great and are visible over the darker base. Look at this manicure, and how well that olive green is showing off over that dark layer of stamping.
Both polishes used are by A England. They are super saturated and as you will soon see, perfect for stamping. Darkest navy blue is Natasha's Dance War & Peace, while olive green is Fotheringhay Castle.
Truth to be told, in my head I seen this playing differently, even though I can't explain, even to myself - how different.
Double stamping is double stamping, and can produce only one kind of result... but in the end, this looked more like a snakes than that abstract, African print inspired image on the plate.
I moved the image around for the visual interest, because this particular image is big enough for me to stamp over 2 nails if turned sideways. For those with long nails - be that natural or sculptured, you can still change the direction of the image and achieve the same result. You can also stamp all the nails the same - that is personal choice I do not want to take away from you.
What is your take on this design?
No matter what, this color combo gave all the good feelings I needed, and for that reason only, it deserve to be posted.
Have an amazing day, weekend is closer by the minute!
Cheers!
