Now, that summer is fast becoming a memory, I think that panic surely took hold of me, and I want to cram as many as possible summer themed manicures in this month. Incredible thing is, as soon as we turned page on our calendar, it was almost as switch was flipped from summer to autumn. Last night, while taking Princess to walk, I could smell wood burning fireplace in the neighbourhood...
Gradients are not something I do often, just because I am sensitive to latex, and trying to limit use of it. Without latex barrier - well it is just too messy... and not an option.
For gradient, I used white base, OPI - Put a coat on, and over that, I sponged following polishes:
Sally Hansen - Tickle me pink (darkest pink), Gosh - Pink Rose (medium pink) and Sinful Colors - Unicorn (pale yellow). I am not sure why is last one named Unicorn - unicorns are white at the best, and usually in a nail polish world - holographic polishes would have unicorn in the name. I am pretty sure Sinful Colors has perfectly fine explanation... this one does not even have a shimmer...
OK, OK, moving on...
On my ring finger I put on Orly - Key Lime Twist - neon yellow-green polish that my camera could not capture... neon on that one is off of the charts.
On my pinky, I used polish I purchased last weekend on clearance for 1.99 - OPI - Here today, Aragon tomorrow - deep green jelly.
I made decal using image from Helen 16 stamping plate, and picked up with MdU - Black and help of clear jelly stamper for easier placement afterwards. Decal is filled with same polishes I used for a gradient.
I had to have a slice of watermelon in my hand as a prop for this manicure. This edible prop was deliciously sweet and juicy.
