Here I am with something that I thought it may look vintage... We know that from time to time I like to do something that would have that vintage vibe. I might of miss the mark by the large margin, but I gave it a try...
Base I one of my newer Essie polishes - Demure Vix. Yeah, another nude... but this one is so pretty, I could not pass on it. We are talking about nude with a purple shimmer. Purple! Of course I had to have it.
On above photo I am wearing three thin coats for a full opacity, and no top coat.
Ever since I got my UR Beautiful stamping plates, I wanted to do this image in brown. No idea why, but it was brown or nothing for a first time wear, and here I am, stamped brown over nude... such a strange color combo, and makes me think of 70's. That was the era when all of those neutral, earthy colors dominated. I think that made me call this manicure vintage...
That is also reasoning for me digging in my jewellery box for that perfect vintage accessory - pearls. I have this strand for almost 30 years now! There was definitively some yellowing on my strand, but they never been white to begin with. I wore them a lot years back when I was actually going out and having fun. I love my life, but from time to time, I really want to dress up and go out... I am not sure that anybody dresses up any more... which is such a shame... I have closet full of beautiful garments, and nowhere to go... Years back, in Europe, we would dress up for theatre, but not so much here. Few years back, just around out anniversary, hubby surprised me with ballet tickets, and I was almost only one wearing dress! I seen yoga pants and runners! Good thing that I do not think that there is such a thing as being overdressed.
Image itself is from UR Beautiful 01 stamping plate, and I used Kaleidoscope St.-85 Brown for stamping. On my ring finger I added some gold in attempt of gold embossing, but I kind of ruined it .... at least I think that. Gold looked so much better in my head than it did on my nail.
Ah well, there is always next time.
Finished manicure I topped with Color Club top coat, and top coat brought out even more of that soft shimmer.
