There are some images I have on my stamping plates I am drawn to, but never explore them because they are so specific in many areas. Point in case are the images used for this manicure. They remind me of antique iron work - pieces that may getting fine layer of rust in someone's attic. Pieces that acquired that comfortable patina from use and on which time left marks... warm glow of the times gone by that looks like looking through the honey jar. That kind of mental image was dictating my color choices.
I started with lightest of the colors - NYX - Pastel yellow (one of many untried polishes), then I sponged on using small peace of sponge some Color Club - Je ne sais Quoi and Sally Hansen - Kinetic Copper. I decided against your classic radial gradient because I wanted more distressed look.
Images are from JQ-L13 stamping plate, and I first stamped with Kaleidoscope St.-85 Brown, then with Mundo de unas - Black. Layering black over this pretty warm brown, I think I achieved that rusty look - or patina I pictured in my head. It also made black little bit less harsh against soft background...
All is sealed with Seche top coat. On my photos, you can tell that middle one was taken indoors, and lamp made all yellows much brighter than they are. Outdoor phots are more true to the color.
We all know how much I like to take photos with flowers as a props, and I knew that my neighbour have old fashioned white lilac - great pairing for this vintage type of manicure.
I wish you all a wonderful day, and thank you for stopping by.
