One is textured matte glitter I am wearing on my ring finger, L'Oréal - Hidden gems. This is wonderful glitter bomb with matte black glitter, metallic teal micro glitter, and size bigger silver glitter. All is suspended in a black base, and I am wearing two coats. In the bottle, it seems that there is some purple too, but I could not see it on my nail. I really can't remember if I ever wore this one on its own ever!
With this deep, dark beauty, I decided to try one of my Quo by Orly - Turquoise Moonlight - this is one gorgeous shifty metallic shimmery teal polish. I do know I never wore this one. and it is gorgeous! There is so much depth in it, and shimmer is to die for.
When I've seen all of this deep teal beauty, first association was - mermaid!
Thing is, I didn't feel like making your classic scaly mermaid, I just wanted hint of it. I figured this is as good opportunity as any to try my new mermaid stamping plate.
In insert, I have quick shot of this plate to let you see what was I talking about. I do not want to talk about quality of this photo, because it is big, and no matter what I did, there was glare of the lamp on part of it which would obscure the images... To say at least, this was the best of the really bad batch of them... This plate is huge! I was lusting over it ever since I seen review on Bregje's blog (Ooh, Shinies!) long ago. Bregje was one of the first nail bloggers I started following, long before I started doing it myself. Just to clear something, I am not as good as Bregje, by no stretch of imagination. Our styles are little bit different, but I still like to check her awesome page and read her great reviews. She was one of my first enablers, and since then, I started following one or two more.
As you can see from my photo on the top, this is one handsome plate, full of great and different designs, and I got it on a recent sale on DRK Nails.com. They just announced that they are moving to the Amazon, and there is still great polish sale going on, even though it is harder to find something that is not sold out. Trust me I know, I did stock up on some great Brazilian stamping polish from Esmalte da Kelly and La Femme while there is still a chance to get them. I am not sure if they will still go on with the polish sales on the new site, or they will just sell plates on amazon...
Plate I am telling you about is DRK Themes - Mystic Ocean. There was a moment where I was almost overwhelmed with amount of images I could use, I kind of just closed my eyes, and touch the plate with my finger. My finger landed on the design on the bottom of the plate, second from the left. In a way, I was glad I did not lend on a scales designs, and there is at least half a dozen of images of that style on the plate.
I stamped with Kaleidoscope st.1- Black, and on my thumb and pinky I double stamped with Sally Hansen - Silver Sweep. With choice of stamping polishes, I was playing with colors of the Hidden Gems... if you were wondering why I went for a such a dark and moody color combo.
I hope you will have a good day, and I will just mermaid my way towards the weekend...
