Last item that Vivian from Born Pretty Store sent me was this Small Acrylic Nail Art Bamboo Pen.
This one did not travel well, and when I received it, it was all messed up. If that happens to you, do not fret!
All that I needed to do is to work it back into original state by working it in between my fingers after I dipped brush into the water. When I was satisfied, I let it dry so it would keep shape. I also add touch of cuticle oil over fine bristles, to keep them soft and pliable. That should be your routine with brushes, as they tend to go dry and brittle, and last thing you want is brush hairs all over your hard work...
This also allowed me to see how brush is built - inner core is harder bristle, while outer layer is soft, pliable one. This will allow you to load your brush with color, and by adjusting the pressure on the tip, you will get thinner and ticker lines with the same brush.
I am not the painter by no stretch of imagination, but I love this brush. I do odd freehand, and I always go on how I need better brushes... well, I got better brush - now I have to shop for some talent (if anyone knows where to get it, please let me know)...
Brush has bamboo handle that is super light, and easy to hold. I love natural handle so much. I think I need one or two more of those.
For my review, I needed to paint something, but was completely uninspired. I also wanted to film tutorial, but there was something wrong with my camera, and all was for nothing... good thing I was also taking the pictures, so there is a collage of how-to for you. Now, when I think of it, if I could record myself trying to take photos of myself holding this brush in my left hand...let's just say, I am source of constant amusement for my neighbours... ;)
Camera was rolling, my miniature palate was loaded with assorted colors, and I needed to start... I started painting lines on my pinky, and somehow, out of its own volition, this beach design emerged. I tried to do more details, and shading to get feel of the brush. I also wanted to try some curved and some straight lines, and I even tried lettering, and as you can see, it worked as much as my talent (or lack of it) allowed.
Would I recommend it? Of course! I am just recreational freehand artist but I would totally tell you to order this one. It is inexpensive, and works good. It is better quality than some other brushes I have, and that is vast improvement in my books.
