I found iridescent gift bows at a local Dollar store, and after reading about other people creative approach, I decided to go with this.
I cut piece of the bow in the small triangular pieces, wanting to do a border on nail or two, and more elaborate design on accent nail or two... I downsized this approach really quickly. My wax pen that I usually use for a glitter placement, did not want to cooperate, so there was lots of fiddling with a tweezers that were not fit for that particular purpose. Border on all of them was as far as I was ready to go...
I used Jessica - Blue blooded - one coater, deep blue polish, and while polish was drying I applied piece by little piece of my cut up bow.
All sealed with 3 generous layers of top coat, as my 'glass' was not really that thin and flexible, and some sharp edges peaked through. If I did not sealed them, it would drive me to distraction.
I actually wore this to work, and loved it. Little pieces of bow would caught even tiniest amount of light, and reflect it right back like a tiny mirror, and depending of angle from which you observe them, they shift color from blue to green to yellow to copper.
I am really curious what kind of effect they would give against white polish. I might give this look another chance...
