Happy to report that Dani loved his cake that looked like something Ghostbusters needed to attend to... He loved it!
Today, I decided to go with a rainbow, and I use this word really loosely here.
Base is beautiful Orly - Mirrorball, and if looked under right lighting conditions, you will see rainbow, one on each nail... I love random bigger micro glitter throughout.
That was obviously not enough, as I tried to add more with watermarble. Yes, you heard me right - I watermarbled, and had four successful attempts, which is some kind of record for me. I wanted to use my sheer polishes, to allow Mirrorball to shine through, with occasional black ring thrown in for a good measure. I could not get over how many rings of polish I got, and in my excitement, I totally forgot to take a photo or two of that miracle. Now, you will have to take my word on it.
Some of my sheer polishes been too sheer, and did not show at all, while some - like OPI - Landscape artist showing pretty good. I used all of my Essie watercolors, and my only Soap bubbles - Rosa.
Black that I used for marbling is Formula X- Dark Matter. On one of my previous attempts, this one marbled so well, I remembered to use it this time.
I don't do this type of manicures often, so I gave it a try again. I can take just so much of tinkling with it before I give up. I figured, if I do it only now and then I can keep my mojo...
As you can tell, I made same marble design on my ring and middle fingernails, and switched it up little bit for my index fingernail. As you can tell, my thumb is sporting really cool looking swirl, and just for you, I took macro of it.
On the big photo above, you can see that I attached little rhinestone on the outer corner, but when I took the macro, I took extreme close up, and stone did not fit - shown here is pretty much middle of my nail... I just wanted you to see how beautiful this swirl is.
You can see texture of the Mirrorball, and thin black streaks through just gives this so much dimension. Looking at it like this, design reminds me of silk fabric. I knew I would not be able to reproduce this exact pattern on the other nails, so I stayed with simple designs there. I really, really liked the look of my thumb...
