Beauty I am talking about is Texas Tea - described as blackened gold - I say it is gorgeousness in the bottle. Yes, gold is pronounced color here, but it is not the only one color here. There is some warm brown and green, and indigo too...
I applied two coats over black base, but truthfully, one coat was just enough. Applies like butter, smooth and even, and coverage is great.
Here on the swatches, I did not put any top coat.
This is my only true flakie polish - yes, I have some toppers, and they are pretty, but I always wondered how would feel to have it as this. Experience is one you need to feel to know. While flakie toppers can be pretty coarse, with sharp edges that need few layers of top coat to reduce the chances of snags and scratches, this one applies smooth as a butter, no sharp edges, no roughness at all. I am not sure if smaller size of particles in have major role, but I am sold on it. Now I have to plot another one or two of these into my collection.
You kind of expect me to stamp over this, and I would not disappoint. It would be too easy to stamp on the top with black or white, but I done quite a few of those lately (some of them still waiting to be posted), I decided to go with the color.
I paired this with Kaleidoscope St.17 Turquoise I purchased at El Crazon Shop and YaQinAn - Electric Blue from Born Pretty Store, item #27003, I recently reviewed. I provided direct link to polish, and you are welcome to use my 10% discount code SHGK31 for savings on all full priced items in the store.
Image is from my new UR Beautiful -10 stamping plate. I love those plates, and I ordered last seven I missed in first round... they are all etched well and images are just fantastic.
I will fist show you a taste of glossy top coat over this, then I will show you version with a matte top coat, because we need to matte all the flakies!
This is the macro of my thumb.
I usually use my thumb for practice stamping, and here I did stamped negative space image first with Electric Blue, then with Turquoise, then stamped again single flower with Electric Blue. This was pretty, but I decided against double stamping negative space image, and I went with single layer in Turquoise on rest of the nails.
You can clearly see layers of flakies in a Texas Tea, and how well they covered black base.
