Actually one on each hand. I would totally wear necklace like this if I have it. Just imagine - chunky, oval, vibrant blue opal in exquisite gold setting, with three filigree chains to wear the weight of the opal.
This would be nice choker necklace or bracelet for that matter. Bold and delicate in the same time.
Opals do not require any kind of fancy cutting - just a high gloss polishing is enough to bring this beauty to life. They sine and sparkle and continually change of colors like fire and lightening.
Australian aboriginals in their legends describing birth of opals like this - when creators foot touched the ground, stones on that spot become alive and started sparkling in all the colors for the rainbow.
I started with painting three thin layers of Zoya - Portia on all nails but my ring fingernail.
There, I applied two coats of L'Oréal - Blue dreams. Over that I layered one coat of Revlon - Cosmic flakies and then layer of Klean Colors - Chunky Holo Teal. With small brush, I painted gold `setting` for my stone. This actually looks way better in real life. Shimmery, color changing flakies and holo glitter are best seen in indirect light, which doesn`t make for quality photography... well, it could work, but I do not have fancy equipment to do so.
I added Sally Hansen - Big Matte top coat over Portia, and then stamped gold chains using Maybelline - Bold Gold and Uber Chic UC1-03 stamping plate.
I never tried to replicate real look of precious or semi-precious stones, and I am pretty happy with result.
You have yourself a wonderful day, and I hope to see you soon.
