Beer will never be drink of my choice - never! I dislike taste of it, smell of it, and I am just slightly allergic to something in it... blotchy, red spotty and itchy is not something that I crave...
Never the less, I could not pass opportunity to do something else that not include any body parts or fluids... yeah, you know what I am talking about.
I did not have anything that I could quite use for this manicure, as beer themed stamping plated would not catch my attention. OK, I did have some image of drinking people (I think), but I thought of it afterwards, and this is what I came up with.
Few weeks ago I visited Nail Vinyls at Nailviyls.com to see if I can convince myself to try vinyls... lo and behold, I came across the box I missed on two years ago - I survived Black Friday 2014. Only I will go into vinyl maker/store to purchase nail polish! :D
Box came with three polishes from three Indie makers (Cupcake Polish, Glisten & Glow and Different Dimension) and holographic vinyl/stickers from Nail Vinyls ->>> all of that, combined with discount code was the offer I could not refuse.
First item out the box I tried was Different Dimension - Up all night, gorgeously, sinfully rich holographic teal polish with flawless application.
Image I used is found on MoYou London Greek Mythology 02 stamping plate, and I thought it would look nice as half moon manicure. Images connected with concentric circles (or parts of it) reminded me of hop, one of the ingredients of the beer. This is not image you came across often, so I decided to go with it. I also thought that this motif would actually go with the name of the base polish and extend it to "up all night drinking beer with my buddies!" This phrase might came out of mouth of some frat boy, showing off in front of the girls... Ah youth! I was young... once... (big sigh)
This base is show stopper in its own right, and I needed to came up with color combination that would not be 'swallowed' by it.
Considering that I went through some extensive addition to my stamping polishes, it would be unfair to all of the colored pretties I horded - just to use black, white, gold or silver...
I decided to go with opposite side of color wheel on this one. I used Esmaltes da Kelly - Chico, crème stamping polish that is kind of peachy colored. Again, as rest of the Esmaltes da Kelly polishes that I own, Chico label is again too cute with its playful monkey on...
Over that, using my clear jelly stamper I stamped with DRK - Copper. I love this color combo - so soothing.
Vine that is covering my backyard fence seemed to be perfect backdrop for this manicure. It is amazing what few days difference can make - on my photos, leaves are mainly richly green, but frost or two later, and they are deep brown/red. I need to get out to capture it in that color too...
It would be even cooler if I took photo holding the cold beer glass, but brew can't be found in my home... After I taken this off, I remembered that I have some ginger ale, that could stand in the place of beer, but that was just two minutes too late. "P
