Star is Chameleon Chrome powder from Born Pretty Store, Item #37596, Color GRB20, and I recently had review of this product. In my review I used black polish as a base, but I love this powder so much, I was curious how it would look over different colors. I have to tell you one thing - powders may be messy, but boy, oh boy, results are so worth it.
I used one of my favourite purple polishes as a base - Powder Perfect - Puerto Rico.
I rubbed powder over the ring and thumb, and then I used Winstonia - Silver Bullet for stamping. Image is on Mezerdoo 4 stamping plate I purchased at AliExpress.
Oh my - loved this so much! I wanted that mirror finish on my chrome, and just for that I purchased water based top coat made by Piggy Paint. Piggy Paint is Indie brand that makes nail polishes aimed for use on children, without harsh chemicals. This is only product from this Indie I own, and consistency wise, it is really runny, like a water, but that baby sealed my chrome nail without glitch! I have a macro later to show you.
This chrome powder looks amazing over the purple - so reflective, and because I was getting really strong mermaid vibes, I went with that theme.
On my pinky I stamped beach themed pattern - image that is on Moyra 09- Cellebration stamping plate. Unfortunately, my pinky is so short, you can barely see that tiny fish and sail boat...
I seen some of the ladies I follow on a social media stamping with the chrome powder, so I gave it a try... I used images of sea shell and something that looked like a waves from Décor Unhas - Romantica 01 plate. This is my first plate from this maker, and size wise it is large plate, with big, buffet style images.
I applied powder with the brush, scraped and it looked like there was nothing there! Against better judgement, I picked up my stamper, and when I lifted it up, I was so surprized to see image on my stamper head. To assure that powder image will stay where I really wanted, I applied sticky base coat over my Puerto Rico base. I used Yellow Stopper, but really, any sticky base coat would do, but it has to be dry, but still tacky when applying the stamp. What you see on the photos below, is the first image stamped... without ever picking up the image again, as there was plenty of powder left on the stamper head, I just proceeded with stamping it on the other hand. I had done this to wear to work and loved every minute of it.
I wore this to work for two days, and I loved that chrome so much, I wanted to have more of it...
And here goes version 2.0...
Thumb and ring finger stayed, and I just applied coat of Puerto Rico over other three nails, and kept on going... Just to show you how well this manicure was wearing, there was barely any tip wear after two days of wear...
I just needed more of the chrome there, and using the same stamping plate by Décor Unhas - Romantica 01, and Silver Bullet, I created another manicure, very similar, but very different in the same time.
I loved this version even more, so I wore it to work for remaining of the week. I just could not stop looking at them.
I just hope you will like it as much as I did.
Cheers!
