On my index finger I wrote 8 Hours to represent what workers movement was trying - and succeeding to acheive - 8 hours of work, 8 hours of recreation and 8 hours of sleep. This was seen on numerous banners on the photographs I have seen.
On my middle finger is raised fist which in nutshell symbolize workers around the world.
Ring finger have some assorted tools worker could use, and unfortunately I run out of nail space before I managed to cram more tools in. I did pickaxe - for miners, screwdriver and some sort of wrench for mechanics and construction workers, but I was thinking about agriculture, medicine and all the other physical laborers that I held in my mind, and want at least to mention here. All of this was done freehand using nail polish and black acrylic paint.
Last is pinky with maple leaf for Canada. In Canada and US this is Labor Day long weekend, but in Europe, this is generally celebrated on May 1st.
Hope you get some rest this long weekend, and for all of the students that will return to school this week I wish a great academic year!
