Bit disappointed, I decided to do something Halloween-ish. I remembered that I barely used orange in my designs this Fall, and if I do not use it now, I probably will not other time of the year...
I wanted to make tortoise shell, or amber stone on my nails, and Halloween is the best time of the year for harebrained projects - if they do not turn as expected, background can still be reused for some gruesomeness...
While I was doing this, story line was forming in my head, and would go something like this:
Once upon a time, very young and very pretty witch lived in a cabin at the end of the village. Villagers avoided young witch, mostly because of fear. Our witch was fond of amber, especially pieces that have dragonfly trapped in them, but she liked to see any type of bugs trapped in the resin... Rumor was that she was looking for the perfect specimen, and she already had one, but needed second one that would be a perfect match for pair of earrings... It was also told that she accepted only young male clients under pretense of freeing them from some curse or other...
Thing is, nobody ever seen young man leave her premises. What she was doing to them? Was our witch some kind of nymphomaniac, or she was just misunderstood lonely young woman looking for a soul mate? Is there something more menacing that was happening behind the closed door?
How was this for a beginning of story that can be told in many different ways...
*** On my index and pinky I did smoosh using Essie - Roarrrrange, Revlon - Chocolate truffle and my glow in a dark wannabe in a pumping bottle...
Rest of the nails having Roarrrrange as a base.
I hand painted with gold and Chocolate truffle around the nail, making jewellery like gold setting for my amber stone. On index finger I stamped dragonfly image with Chocolate truffle and nameless plate that I have forever...
On my mid and ring finger I stamped spider webs and spiders using images from Bundle Monster BM-13 stamping plate - from first ever set I owned! Bundle Monster since then redid this set because images were on the smaller side, but I used them for years, and did not mind smaller full nail images, even though I had some trouble placing them on my thumb.
Green slime and words were freehand by yours truly.
