Here I am in produce aisle, and I have the urge to go to the other side of the store with pretense of need for more exercise - and next thing I know I am at cosmetics, more specifically nail polish aisle... Yeah - that must been common - I can't surely be the only one this things happen. While I was there exercising (he he he) I noticed that Superstore got new Essence display. Until now, only place you could find this brand of cosmetic was at Shopper Drug Mart. To my surprise, their selection of Essence products was bigger than one in Shoppers! I took the peak, and lo and behold, they had Metallic polishes... well, I was already at that side of the store, so I picked up couple of them to try them out...
I love Essence polishes - they are inexpensive, and not bad quality wise, and as a bonus, I love their fat, wide brush. I just need one brush stroke for whole nail, and that is a bonus for base type of polishes. Nothing annoys me more than skinny little brush that require 10 strokes per nail - you can just say goodbye to even distribution. But that is just my opinion... not everyone would agree with me.
Sooo, on my groceries shopping expedition, I purchased 2 new polishes: Chrome Paradise and Steel the world.
I used both in this manicure, just because I needed to try them both...
First, I applied coat of Formula X - Dark matter polish, and then on thumb, index and pinky I applied 2 thin coats of Chrome Paradise. This is sweet duochrome with green/purple shift. It was really pretty to look at. I also wanted to try to stamp with it, and yes, oh yes, stamped like a charm - over black to the boot! Even stamped, it still contained duochrome abilities, which I found may not be case with all polishes of that kind.
Stamping chrome on chrome or metallic on metallic is calling for fail, but to my surprize, Steel the world stamped too, and you can see it. This was double bonus! Steel the world is silver foil like polish, and I was in the need for another bottle of silver polish...
Only thing I regret is that I was not able to photograph them in their full beauty. You will have to take my word on this one, but at least, stamping is visible. Images are from BCN-024 and BC-01 respectively.
