First one is Born Pretty - Dark Green stamping polish, color option 343, item #37020.
I had such a fantastic results with red stamping polish, that I was looking forward to trying this one.
I did quick stamping test that you can see in the insert. I always want to know how polish stamps over dark or light colors. That just saves me some time and frustration when I actually use it for a manicure.
Dark Green stamps well over light and medium colors. To be honest, I did not expect it to be visible over black, because as I was puting it over the stamping plate, I noticed that this one did not look as saturated. I stamped full nail image, and over black it was not showing at all - until I put top coat. Top coat will make black blacker too, and it clearly helped green appear here. I was like - Where did you came from... so this was really pleasant surprize.
This would be really neat over dark colors as a discrete background, because it would not try to steal the show from lighter colors. How many times I was looking for a polish like that - They would be either too visible, or would totally disappear...
There is another thing or two that I like to know when looking at stamping polishes. First (and most important, right next to opacity) is if polish would smear when top coat is applied - Answer to this question when this green polish is in question is - no. As you can see from the photo in the insert, did not smear or bleed on the white, and for me that is a big- not just big, it is huge deal breaker. I have few of polishes from different brands that would smear no matter what I do...
Another thing that I am looking in stamping polish is if polish is staining your cuticles. I usually do not use latex when stamping, as I have sensitivity to latex, and try to use it only when I have to. So this would make for really important question, because who would want to walk around with green skin! I usually use piece of tape to remove what ever I can off of my skin, and then clean with brush dipped in nail polish remover what is left behind. I am happy to report that this one is not staining. My skin is usually very dry, and there was no green left around my nails, and I have a photos to prove this.
This is floral plate after all, so I thought green stamping polish should go well. Thing is, all I could think when I was stamping images off of this plate was - this looks like a snowflake - hence the title- Green Snow... to go with my green eggs and ham ... said Dr Seus...
I just think it is the time of the year to think about snowflakes, so this just shows you that beauty is in the eye of the beholder... It also shows you that this can be quite versityle plate to have in your collection. Plate that depending on context and season looks fresh and appropriate - that is my friends win-win situation!
I am into simple manicures lately, and simplicity of this really appealing to me at this moment, and I hope that you will like it too.
As a base I used Color Club - Dirty Money - pale gold textured polish, over which I stamped using above mentioned two items - Dark green stamping polish and BP-L-052 stamping plate.
