Considering that I have built nice soak off gel collection, I decided to play a bit. What to tell you. I am sucker for punishment. Not that I am that great with gel polish, but I get bored really quick , so I decided to have some fun with this.
I decided to have a gel gradient - done in summer colors, it was bound to lift any mood swing. In the same time, I am to try two gel shades, both Quo by Orly.
I started with applying base coat, curing it, and then one coat of shimmery yellow named Just Ducky. After this I added two more coats of Just Ducky, and pretty shimmery pink named Rose Petals. I applied Just Ducky half way, then from the tips towards the middle I would do Rose Petals, slightly mixing it with a brush where those two colors meet.
I am not a nail tech, and I had no clue what I was doing. To be honest, I did not even care if this is proper way to do this or not! If I ever attempt this technique again, I might try something different.
I never before did three coats of color before, and I was not really happy with what I had. Even after three coats this was way to sheer for my taste. Both of the colors I picked were on the sheer side, and they might look nicer over white base... Regardless, this was one pretty gradient.
I did three different looks with this gradient, and every one of them is different, with different feel to them. This first set I will show you today is the one I call edgy, for a lack of proper or decent word for it.
I received whole bunch of new plates, and as with every new toy, I wanted to play with them right away. I picked plate, and that was just another set of torture, because now I had to pick one of the 12 designs on it. Plate that I picked was Cooi -026.
I wanted something that would go nice with my gradient, but I did not want to be something like sunset/sunrise image. Took me few tries to finally set on this entwined circles. Next thing was to pick stamping polish that would stand out against gradient. Inspiration was not strong that day, and I went with sure thing - Mundo de Unas - Black. After I stamped all nails, I decided to do another layer of stamping. Considering that I went with sure bet black, I decided against white. I did not wanted to be that predictable. One thing was for sure - I wanted light color, and I went with my Canadian made Girly Bits Cosmetics - Silly Daffodilly.
I think this was a great choice, and as a piece of trivia, many male patients complimented my nails.
I hope you are going to like them too.
