I think that Ane Li was one of the first people I started to follow and admire.
She was young- too young and is hard to come up with words to explain how to feel about it.
I never knew her personally just through her work, and she was one of the great ones - had world ahead of her- young, beautiful, talented, original, admired... and yet...nobody knew how much sorrow she hid behind bright smile... At some point in time, we all did, but it was just too much for her...
While scrolling through her IG page @ane_li, she gave us glimpse of what she wanted us to see - so much light, hope and tenderness... Who knew that there was so much sadness...
Ane Li favoured light colored background, made flawless gradients and all designs were done freehand. Actually, there was one or two that she stamped, but majority was hers own. There was lots of feathers, and birds, lots of cartoons and puns. And she loved matte finish.
Today is hers funeral, and in Ane Li`s honor, I recreated one of her manicures. It does contain feathers- ones that I see as sign of angel, and there is also a heart, one that goes out to her family that was left behind to cope with this great loss.
My boys are her age, and I have no idea how would I cope if anything happen to them. I just hope that they know that Ane Li was respected and loved in nail art community, and that our prayers and thoughts are with them in this hard time.
Rest in peace little angel, I just hope you finally found peace and light you so desperately needed in your short time with us. You will be inspiration in times to come...
