I picked this wheel with 12 different studs, item #35121 in gold color. Some studs in the wheel are solid, while some are hollowed, and shape wise we have full and hollowed circles, stars, leaf shaped ones, hearts, diamonds full and hollowed, triangles full and hollowed, rectangular/bar shaped and arrow heads. That is quite a variety here I tell you. I included photo of the wheel in the insert on the left, and you can see them for yourself.
What drew me to this wheel is the fact that studs there are not oversized, they are actually on the smaller side, and that said, they are appropriate for any lenght, shape or size of the nail.
My nails have pronounced C curve, so most of the studs would stick out, and get caught onto anything and everything. There is so much possibilities here - using single one, grouping them and/or mixing and matching with ones you already may have at home for interesting nail design. I wanted something simple, yet work appropriate, even though that can be quite a stretch with me. I am really fortunate that I am working in environment that is pretty tolerant towards my nail escapades...
While picking through them, I kept thinking - those are cute as button! And then it hit me! Why don't I make them as a buttons!
I decided to pair those cute little half spheres with this hot pink holographic polish by Lilypad Lacquer - I just think it's pink. This is polish that I recently got, and was looking forward using it. I added little macro of the I just thing it's pink, so you can see it for yourself.
There is strong gold flash within this polish, and I thought that would nicely complement gold studs.
I just find gold and pink such an pretty combo.
On my mid and ring finger, using a small brush, and white acrylic paint I drew collars. Playing on the gold, I also added gold trim around. Couple buttons finished this simple look.
Everything is Topped with love by Love, Angeline top coat.
I actually used different studs from this wheel in one of the reviews that I am yet to share with you, but I wanted to use those studs again, because I think they are too cute not to.
Would I recommed them? Yes!
I am actually liking simplicity of this design. It is also refreshing to do something that is not seasonal. And no, headmaster did not call and asked me to return her uniforms back to school! :D
Thing is, every time I look down on my nails, they make me smile - and that is the exact reason I do nail art. To lift me up and make me happy. I can only hope those will put the smile on your face too.
