This is another design that was inspired by Christmas card we received in office. This was request by one of my coworkers. I was hesitant in the beginging thinking - Black? - but I have to admit that this was really pretty manicure. I truly enjoyed wearing this for couple of days.
Base is Formula X - Dark Matter - one of my favourite black polishes. It is opaque in one simple coat, and dries super fast. While this was drying, I was having a supper, and I could not remember when was the last time I was wearing black polish on its own. I liked this look a lot. It is really hard to remember when was the last time I wore creme polish on its own...
On the top of this black, I added layer of matte top coat - Sally Hansen - Big Matte Top Coat.
I am lately in simple designs, and this one is simple, but opulent in the same time, and I think that color choice has something to do with this.
On my index I added some colorful glitter - Eighty4 - Ooopsie 20, which I also matted. Thing is, this glitter is so beautiful and shiny, not even matte top coat could diminish its sparkle.
On my ring finger, I stamped words Merry Christmas, image is from Harunouta L031 from Born Pretty Store, item #36928, and you can use my discount code SHGK31 for 10% off full priced items.
I stamped with Hit the Bottle - Hello Buttercup. I also stamped above this part of the design I am wearing on my ring finger. Star like image gave that extra spark on rather stark design.
On the bottom of this nail, and also on my pinky and thumb, I added gold trim on the edge of the nail using Hello Buttercup.
On my ring finger I added a decal that I made using Moyra 09 - Celebration stamping plate using Hello Buttercup for pick up of the design, and then adding some green and red glittery polish on the reverse of the design. This really ornate, vintage looking ornaments were just what was needed here.
I love simple elegance of this manicure. Even though this is done in non traditional color scheme, it is so festive. I just could not stop looking at them. Matte finish allowed this intese yellow (shows as a gold) to shine through.
Stay safe, and have a wonderful day.
Cheers.
