Of course I had to try one of the items that arrived. I could not wait to wear new thermal polish - My Dear, color 023. I was hoping for black to white transition, but one I picked is medium to lighter grey, and color change was not really that dramatic - so I skipped swatching and trying to capture color change that was not really that big...
I did best next thing... I covered it with glitter! I own OPI - Serious Sparkle for a long time, and I think I wore it once. Serious Sparkle is holographic topper that has mix of microglitter and bar glitter... which reminded me why I did not wear it. Thing with the bar glitters is that you will have tiniest piece of the glitter hanging over the edge, and silly thing is so sharp and catches onto everything and drives me insane. This manicure lasted me one day, and could not wait for the end of the day to take it off. I peeled it at work - thanks heavens for peel off coats - they are indispensable when it comes to removal of the glitters. All I had to remove at home was tiny bit of stamping polish at the edges.
Loving small victories, especially when I am bit down... serious health issues with hubby, and that just drains all the joy out of me.
I was at loss what to stamp over this sparkly base, as it was bit too much for wear in office on Tuesday as is... Going through my stamping plates, I came across this positive/negative image of butterflies on Uber Chic UC 9-02 stamping plate. Decided to go with black stamping... my Mundo de Unas - Black seen its last manicure... so sad... that was my to-go to stamping polish. I have folder full of un-posted manicures, so I will have few more ready with MdU... but mid manicure I had to switch to El Corazon - Kaleidoscope st 01- Black.
I used both images, and on my index I colored in butterflies using Esmaltes da Kelly - Soap bubbles collection - Neon Rosa. I needed some color to cheer me up.
Topped with Seche top coat.
Not sure about you, but I liked flashes of color through negative space image when light hits it. I may use this glitter in this fashion again, as soon as I forget how annoyed I was with it.
Last night there was another snow fall, and here I am wearing butterflies! That my friends is sign of utter optimism...
Cheers!
