Lots of things changed since than. I learned new techniques, tried new brands, and evolved, slowly and surely. My stamping plate and nail polish/stamping polish collection grew beyond anything I could even imagine back then. Last month was the two years since I started my blog, and it is so funny to look back on my first posts. I clearly see the progress. When I started, I had no clue what was I doing, and was just winging it as I was going, posts were irregular, and all started the same way.
It is not like I know what I am doing now, but I am less afraid to express myself either with my art or with my words. My English still may leave lots to be desired, but I am not obsessive about it as I was in the beginning. I was afraid that people would laugh at my attempts and my grammar and sentence construction.
As a way to kind of look back, I did this blue on blue manicure.
Base is my first Emily de Molly - Brick is dead. I have no idea what this name is referring to. What brick had to do with blue polish? It will remain the mystery I guess.
Image I used is from Born Pretty BPL-027 stamping plate, and for stamping I used Essie - Blue Rhapsody. Earlier in the text I mentioned that I used lots of regular polishes for stamping, and I still do, and rule of the thumb is that most of metallic polishes would do pretty well - and some would be exceptional. Essie metallic polishes fall into later category. I do own few of those, and as you can see from the photos, they stamp flawlessly.
For the positioning of the image, I used clear jelly stamper. I really do not know how I did manage all of those years without them. I wish that those were available back then.
I also added star studs on my ring (rhinestone shaped like a star) and thumb (silver colored star, slightly bigger than one on my ring fingernail). I did enjoyed simplicity of this.
As always, thank you for stopping by.
Cheers!
